Account & data deletion

This page explains how to permanently delete your Lunyb account and the personal data associated with it. You can do this directly from inside the app, or by sending us an email if you no longer have access to the app.
1. Delete your account from inside the Lunyb app
This is the fastest way and works in 30 seconds.
- Open the Lunyb app on your Android or iOS device and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Open Privacy & Data (also labeled Data & Privacy in some versions).
- Tap Delete my account and all data and confirm in the dialog that appears.
Once you confirm, the deletion runs immediately on our servers. There is nothing else for you to do.
2. Request deletion without the app
If you have uninstalled the app, lost your device, or cannot sign in, send us a deletion request by email. We process it manually within 5 business days.
Send an email to contact@lunyb.com with the subject Account deletion request — Lunyb. You can copy and paste the template below:
Subject: Account deletion request — Lunyb Hello, I would like to permanently delete my Lunyb account and all associated personal data. Account email: <the email address you used to sign up> Reason (optional): <leave blank if you prefer> I confirm I am the owner of this account and I understand the deletion is immediate and irreversible. Thank you, <your name>
We need the email address you used to register so we can locate your account. We may ask for one extra piece of information (for example, the approximate creation date) if multiple accounts match.
3. What we delete
When you delete your account, the following data is removed permanently from our active systems:
- Your user profile (display name, email, profile picture, preferences).
- All authentication records and active login sessions in our Supabase Auth database.
- All user-generated content tied to your account stored in our Supabase database.
- Behavioural analytics linked to your user ID (PostHog events, in-app analytics).
- Deep-link tokens, magic-link tokens and any pending invitations associated with your account.
- Push notification tokens for your devices.
4. What we keep, and for how long
A small amount of data is retained after deletion because we are legally required to keep it, or because it has been irreversibly anonymised and no longer identifies you:
- Server access & security logs: kept for 90 days to detect abuse and protect the service, then automatically purged.
- Billing & payment records (invoices, receipts, refund history): kept for 7 years as required by tax and accounting regulations applicable to Pro Com FZC. These records contain transactional data only, not your app activity.
- Anonymised aggregate metrics (e.g. number of monthly active users): retained indefinitely. They contain no identifier and cannot be linked back to you.
- Records of your deletion request itself(date, channel) are kept for 12 months as a compliance audit trail.
5. Timing
- From inside the app: deletion is immediate and irreversible as soon as you tap the confirmation button.
- By email: we acknowledge your request within 2 business days and complete the deletion within 5 business days at most.
- Backups are rotated on a 30-day cycle. Any residual copy in an encrypted backup is overwritten within 30 days of the deletion.
